I first met Monte Moore at the Wizard Convention in July of 1998. He showed me some of the beautiful black and white sketches he had done and I was happy to supply him with some photos to use for reference. By the time we met up again in September at the Dragon Con, he had already begun the sketch for this painting. I was thrilled when he told me it was going to be the cover of his first published sketchbook. Monte does some amazing work with mermaids and dragons and I greatly look forward to our next project together.
