A HURRIA MYTH: HEBAT

The principal goddess of the Hurrians, Hebat is represented as part cat and part women. She was the wife of the weather god Tesub and bore him two half-beast daughters. The three women would hide in the trees, waiting to spring upon unsuspecting travelers and devour them.
